Tips to help with Liquid EPDM application on Your RV Roof…!!!

Liquid Roofing is the new feat in the RV roofing industry. As a newer option for RV roofing many RV owners are not familiar with its use and application. In this article we have shared some tips and tricks to make sure you get most out of the product e.g., Liquid EPDM.

Start with Cleaning

Before you apply Liquid Roof you have to first clean the RV roof to remove dirt, debris, loose materials and oil residues. A power wash is the right way to start with. A clean RV roof will make it easier for Liquid EPDM to adhere to the roof properly.

It must be dry

When you are done with power wash, let the RV roof to completely dry under the sunlight. For porous material it is more critical as it can absorb water and later on release that moisture causing bubbles and blistering after Liquid EPDM application.

Right tools do matter

Liquid EPDM can be easily applied by using simple paintbrush or a paint roller; however, you will need additional tools as well such as a paddle mixer and a bucket to combine the liquid and the catalyst. Painters tape may also be needed if you are applying Liquid EPDM to a particular area and do not want to coat adjacent areas.

Go thin

Liquid EPDM is one coat application system for your RV without needing a primer (in most cases). You only need a single coat in most cases, which should be around one millimeter thick. Don’t apply a second coat unless it absolutely needed.

Give it time

Liquid EPDM water-proofs the RV the instant it is applied, even if it rains it is fine in most cases. However, it is advisable to choose a clear warm sunny day for Liquid EPDM application as it takes a temperature above 55’F degrees to cure and 24 hours to dry out completely.\
